VETERAN ELIGIBLE NRA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
On May 31, 2013 Louisiana Shooters Unlimited began our first semester of Training NRA Instructors who have GI Bill® Educational Benefits to pay for their training to become NRA Instructors. A 26-week term will train you to be an NRA Certified Instructor in all 13 NRA Disciplines. More information here.
LOUISIANA SHOOTERS BASIC PISTOL
This course meets the training requirement to get your Louisiana concealed handgun permit. Pistol safety and marksmanship are covered, as well as conflict avoidance/resolution and our use of force laws.

LOUISIANA PERSONAL PROTECTION I
This is the next step. We review the basics, then cover concealment methods, belt and holster selection, mindset, presentation, presentation from concealment, movement during presentation, presentation and shooting, and what to do after a shooting.
300-400 rounds required | 10-hour course $175 | 16-hour course $225

DEFENSIVE CARBINE I
We review the basics, awareness methods, mindset, presentation, movement, use of cover, basic tactics and what to do after a shooting. Next we cover transitions to/from a long gun and cover the circle of safety concept, sling use in carry/marksmanship, Zeroing, prone, freearm, armrest standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, and improvised field positions. Emergency reloads, low light shooting, malfunction clearances, and maintenance are covered as well. You can get/renew your carry permit with this course.

DEFENSIVE CARBINE II
We review the basics, along with everything from Defensive Carbine I. Then we move on to urban tactics and more complex shooting positions such as suppine and shooting from a vehicle. Shooting on the move and basic team tactics will be introduced to students who demonstrate sufficient mastery of the more basic drills.

NRA BASIC PISTOL INSTRUCTION CERTIFICATION COURSE
This is the course one needs in order to become an NRA Certified Instructor in Basic Pistol. Successful completion of this workshop allows one to register with the State Police and teach Concealed Handgun Training Courses in Louisiana. $400
