Welcome to Louisiana Shooters. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, although the latest findings show that violent crimes decreased 0.2 percent when compared with 2013 data, there was still an estimated 1,165,383 violent crimes reported by national law enforcement last year. We must take responsibility for our own personal safety and our loved ones. We offer personal protection and safety strategies through firearm instruction, concealed carry training, and NRA Instructor training.

In the fall of 2004, Colonel Daniel McLemore was deployed to Bagdad, Iraq in support of operation Iraqi Freedom. He left his four children, Cody, Cade, Danielle, and Nathan, in the care of his young wife, Dr. Tracy McLemore.
Taking the care and protection of her family very seriously, Tracy purchased an Smith & Wesson .38 Special with plans to brush up on her shooting skills and get a permit to carry it.
Finding quality handgun training in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area proved difficult. Tracy, Daniel, and Matthew Courtney, a family friend, decided that they should work to make such training available to area residents in the future.
Shortly after Daniel’s return from the war, Louisiana Shooters Unlimited was born.
In 2009, we built our first range and began training National Rifle Association (NRA) Instructors and the process of becoming approved to train veterans with GI Bill® Benefits. In 2013, we finally won approval for our veterans.
Veterans began training to be NRA Instructors in Lake Charles in May, 2013. The following January, we built a second range facility in Deridder, Louisiana in order to better serve veterans in the Fort Polk area.
Louisiana Shooters will continue to work with the NRA and other training counselors to bring GI Bill® Eligible Instructor training to veterans nationwide, as well as get approval for vets with Vocational Rehabilitation benefits to get NRA Instructor training. We will not rest until there is an NRA Instructor in every neighborhood in the United States. Every American should be able to get quality NRA firearms training from somebody that they know and trust.
